ONE NorthEast
One
NorthEast initially employed me to review a part of their
business. This expanded to looking at what the perception
was of the business support network in the North East.
Having reviewed with customers etc. it then led to a large
and loing term piece of work (over 2 years) managing a full
review of what business support should be about in the
north east of England and then designing an implemenation
plan to do that. This review of the publicly funded
business support network in the north east of England
brought the over 250 different organisations together into
a single network. From that I became part-time CEO of new
Business Support Network and member of Board. The review
and then new network was said by the Dti at the time to be
an exemplar of what should be done elsewhere.
While doing the above also carried out other tasks for ONE
including interim head of their internal Business Support
Team, assessing the opportunites after the closure of a
major employer in the north east, and reviewing the joint
veture between the three RDAs in the north of England of
working together on inward investment in North Amercia, and
proposing a way forward.
